MUMBAI: City police’s economic offences wing has filed a chargesheet against real estate brokers Amit Bhagwan Wadhwani and Vicky Bhagwan Wadhwani, directors of Sai Estate Consultants Chembur Pvt Ltd, over an alleged cheating case of over Rs 11 crore.

Last year, they were booked along with builder Lalit Tekchandani in a Rs 3.4-crore cheating case.

The chargesheet pertains to a complaint filed by Manish Tulsidas Thakkar, director of advertising agency MAD (India) Pvt Ltd, who accused the Wadhwanis of defrauding his company by not paying for services given from June 2017-Jan 2024.

As per the FIR filed by Chembur police, MAD (India) executed multiple advertising campaigns for Sai Estate Consultants, including large hoardings and bulk SMS promotions. The total dues crossed Rs 17 crore, of which less than Rs 6 crore was paid.

The chargesheet said when Thakkar asked the Wadhwanis to clear the dues, he was threatened and manhandled by bouncers at the firm’s office. Amit was charged with criminal intimidation. As per the chargesheet, the accused said the money was diverted towards personal and business expenses.
