MUMBAI: Bombay high court on Wednesday granted three more weeks for residents of the top 18 floors in the 34-storey Tardeo tower to vacate.
The Supreme Court, on Aug 1, upheld the high court’s decision that directed these residents to vacate the floors that lack an occupancy certificate. The high court had set the deadline for Aug 2.
The Supreme Court said they could seek an extension before the high court, and they sought four weeks, citing their school-going children and the need to find alternate homes nearby.
The high court granted time, observing it was a ‘mercy plea’ and sought an undertaking in two days to abide by the new deadline. The high court also instructed the BMC to take action for any failure to comply with the undertaking.
