Uttar Pradesh Invests ₹425 Crore in New Townships Across Eight Cities, ETRealty

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh government has allocated Rs 425 crore for developing new townships across eight key cities.

Under the chief minister new township scheme, proposals were forwarded by various development authorities to state govt for funds. The fund would be used as seed capital for development of townships in Bareilly, Varanasi, Orai, Chitrakoot, Banda, Pratapgarh, Ghazipur and Mau.

The objective is to ensure planned development in view of the rapidly growing urban population and to provide better housing facilities for people.

Under the scheme, govt provides up to 50% of the expenditure incurred on land acquisition as seed capital, which is given for a maximum period of 20 years.
