LUCKNOW: The housing board has successfully raked in revenue of Rs 1,000 crore through the first-come-first-served scheme launched in Oct last year. Aimed at offloading the old units that could not be sold for various reasons, the authority launched the scheme on Oct 31 last year.
UP Awas Vikas Parishad prepared the list of the unsold inventory across the state. Details of the flats, along with their coordinates, photographs and addresses, were put up on the centralised portal run by the department. Housing commissioner Balkar Singh said 2,141 flats were booked by individuals so far. “The scheme would remain effective till March 31,” he said.
The board made the scheme attractive, as a 15% discount is offered if the entire payment is made within 60 days after booking the unit, while a rebate of 10% is on offer for those who make payment within 90 days.
