Kerala CM to provide keys of 178 houses on March 1, ETRealty

KOCHI: The model township project for rehabilitating the survivors of the Mundakkai-Chooralmala landslides in Wayanad will be inaugurated by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Sunday.

In the first phase, houses are being provided to 178 families who completely lost their homes in the disaster. The families will begin moving into the houses constructed under the model township project near Kalpetta once CM hands over the keys.

The buildings, constructed as single-storey structures in 1,000 sq ft, were prepared with a foundation that allows for future construction of a second floor. The houses comprise a master bedroom, two rooms, a sit-out, living area, study room, dining hall, kitchen and store area.

Revenue department will set up 20 counters at the inauguration venue to hand over title deeds and ownership rights to the beneficiaries.

Documents containing the title deed for the house and 7 cents of land, along with electricity and drinking water connections, will be handed over. The ownership rights will be granted by Kalpetta municipality.
