INDORE: The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is set to begin allotment of plots in several new industrial areas across Indore region from April, targeting sectors such as confectionery, food processing, plastics and other MSME-driven industries.

MPIDC Indore region executive director Himanshu Prajapati said “MPIDC is planning to start allocation of land in new industrial areas from April. At least nine new industrial areas are being developed in Indore region to attract industries and investments across sectors such as food processing, confectionery, plastics, engineering and other MSME segments.”

Officials said the expansion is part of a larger push to strengthen industrial infrastructure in and around Indore, which continues to see strong demand from both MSMEs and large manufacturers. The new areas are being planned with basic infrastructure such as roads, power supply, water availability and connectivity to major highways to ensure ease of doing business.

The largest among the proposed developments is the new industrial township, Sector 8 at Bardari in Indore district, spread over 451 hectare. This is followed by a 275 hectare industrial cluster at Khawasa in Seoni district and a 256 hectare industrial area at Tarapur in Neemuch district.

In addition, MPIDC plans to develop Sector 9 at Bhatkhedi in Indore district across around 208 hectare to cater to large-scale manufacturing units.

Alongside these larger projects, smaller industrial clusters are also being developed to support MSMEs and ancillary industries. These include Nimrani Phase 2, 61 hectare; Rayan, 35 hectare; Bhavsinghpura, 32 hectare and Machal, 23 hectare.

Industry representatives said the availability of developed industrial land in planned clusters will help MSMEs expand operations while also attracting new investors to Indore region, which remains one of the key manufacturing hubs in Madhya Pradesh.
